Posted: Updated:

Three people had to be rescued from their roof after a fire in Midland early Thursday morning.

The blaze started after midnight at a two-story duplex home in the 600 block of Hemlock Street.

Crews spent nearly three hours trying to get the blaze under control. No one was injured, but crews say the fire did about $60,000 in damage.

The fire began in the basement of the dwelling.

The cause is under investigation.
