Saginaw residents still without power

Posted: Updated:
SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

About 350 Consumers Energy customers are still without power in downtown Saginaw as officials work to get the lights back on.

Consumers Energy says an equipment failure caused the lights to go out for about 20-thousand customers but most saw their power restored late Monday night.

Most of the outages are in an area between Hess and Williamson Road, just east of Sheridan Road. There are also pockets of outages near the intersection of Sheridan and Webber. Another pocket is affecting nearly 20 customers near Hess Road, east of I-75.

No word on when everyone will get their power back.

The outage also caused several events to be canceled, including the Saginaw city council meeting.

That meeting has been rescheduled for Wednesday night.
