FREELAND, MI (WNEM) -

A Mid-Michigan apple farm is joining the fight against breast cancer and helping local women at the same time.

All this weekend, Baynes Apple Valley farm in Freeland is donating 100 percent of its proceeds from pink caramel apples and cookies to "Making Strides against Breast Cancer."

The money raised helps women who couldn't normally afford a mammogram get the treatment they need for free.

The "making strides walk" for Saginaw County is this Saturday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. at Krossroads Park in Kochville Township.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk route is a little more than three and a half miles.
