Saginaw Spirit players go pink for Breast Cancer Month

KOCHVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Two Saginaw Spirit hockey players are dying their hair pink for the seventh annual Pink Out Game this Saturday against the Barrie Colts.

"It's for a good cause so I'm happy to be here," said defensiveman Brand Prophet.

Prophet received the most fan votes on the hockey team's website. The website asked visitors which player should dye their hair pink for the game. Coming in second place was right wing Nick Moutrey.

"Some fans voted, and maybe some of the teammates as kind of a joke," Moutrey said.

Prophet and Moutrey were getting their hair sprayed pink tonight at JR's All Star Haircuts for Men in Kochville Township. They will sport the pink hair tomorrow around town and reveal their hair to fans during the game by taking off their helmets.

The Saginaw Spirit Pink Out Game is this Saturday at 7:11 p.m. at the Dow Event Center.  Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the St. Mary's Breast Care Fund.
