Bay County nonprofit, Do-All Inc., wants to make sure every child in Bay County stays warm this winter. Director Kristal Corrion says this year the need is greater than ever.
"We had around 1,500 applications for coats this year and we still need about 300 more," said Corrion.
Last year, Do-All gave away more than 1,200 coats to kids in need.
"This is our sixth year doing this, but this is the first time I've really had my doubts whether or not we are going to make it," said Corrion.
Coat distribution begins Tuesday, Nov. 5. Corrion has faith that the community will step up in time.
"Having kids go without coats is just not an option for us," said Corrion.
The organization is specifically asking for boys and girls coats sizes 7/8 through 14/16 because those are the sizes they still do not have enough of.
You can drop off new and gently used coats at the Do Care Family Enrichment Center office in Bay City, as well as the Bay City Mall, all branches of the Bay County Library System, Independent Bank locations and Thumb National Bank Wilder Road branch.
