Parents offer thanks for baby's new heart

The parents of 7-month-old Rylee Reinbold can't say "thanks" enough.

They are thankful for their little girl's new heart and the successful transplant she received in late October at CS Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor.

They are thankful for her strong recovery, and they are especially grateful for the outpouring of kindness and support they've received through the entire process.

"We could never possibly thank everyone that has supported and prayed for us through this journey so far, but I would like to try my best to let people know we are truly blessed to have so many people thinking about us and supporting us through this journey with our daughter," said Kandra Reinbold, Rylee's mother.

A benefit dinner was held Nov. 8 at the American Legion Hall in Richville which more than 800 people attended.

"We did not attend the event due to any illness we could possibly have brought home to Rylee. We were updated through the evening and sent pictures. The turn out was unbelievable and the end result was more than we could have ever expected," said Reinbold.

The Reinbolds plan to use the money raised to pay for Rylee's medical bills and future care.
