Discount retailer shuttering operations

Posted: Updated:
BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

A well-known local clothing store is closing it's doors. Discount retailer Norman's will hold going out of business sales at all five locations, starting Thursday.

The discount outerwear and clothing store is a Bay City staple, having been open for more than 80 years, but now the owner is retiring, planning to close up shop by January 4.

The Bay City location is just one of five closing up shop. Others include bigger stores in Gaylord and East Tawas. All stores will mark down all merchandise and offer raffle prizes to shoppers.

Preparation has been going on through the night for the beginning of the end.
