Saginaw Township police say a homeowner heard glass breaking at his house around 2 a.m. on Friday and immediately dialed 911.
Officers responded to the scene in the 3200 block of Barnard Road and apprehended an 18-year-old man standing on the back porch of the residence and a 19-year-old man hiding in the basement of the residence.
Saginaw Township Police chief Donald Pussehl stated in a news release that the 19-year-old suspect had entered the home through a basement window while the 59-year-old homeowner was inside the house.
Officers arrested both suspects at the scene and lodged them in Saginaw County Jail.
Investigators said evidence collected at the scene linked the two suspects to three additional burglaries of a pole barn and sheds in the Barnard Road area. Bicycles and tools were stolen in the other burglaries.
