Spirit's three-game win streak snapped

SARNIA,ONT. (WNEM) -

The Saginaw Spirit saw their three-game winning streak snapped Friday in Sarnia, falling 5-3 to the Sting.

Nikolay Goldobin scored two goals and three other Sting skaters lit the lamp to lead Sarnia to the win. Audrey Alexeev, Eric Locke and Cody Payne all scored for the Spirit, whose last loss was November 2 against Sault Ste. Marie.

Jake Paterson stopped 29 of 34 Sting shots in the loss. The Spirit return home to the Dow Event Center in Saginaw on Saturday, when they'll host the Mississauga Steelheads. Saturday's game starts at 7:11 p.m.

Saginaw is currently 11-7-1-1 (24), tied for second in the Western Conference's West Division, 10 points behind division leading Sault Ste. Marie.
