DETROIT, MI (AP) -

Utilities in Michigan say about 103,000 homes and businesses are without power following a damaging Midwestern storm.

DTE Energy Co., CMS Energy Corp.'s Consumers Energy unit and other utilities say more than 640,000 Michigan customers have lost service since the storms hit Sunday. Crews from several states are working to restore power.

At least two people in Michigan died in the storm. High winds knocked down trees and power lines and damaged buildings.

DTE said early Wednesday that about 50,000 southeastern Michigan customers remained without power out of about 302,000 affected. Consumers Energy says Wednesday morning that about 47,500 of its customers are without power out of about 296,000 affected.

Indiana Michigan Power says Wednesday that about 6,000 of its Michigan customers remained without service out of about 42,000 affected.
