Investigators aren't sure if wind may have caused the truck to flip over.
CHESANING, MI (WNEM) -
Drivers had to find alternate routes through Chesaning after a truck carrying scrap metal overturned Monday.
Police at the scene said the truck was headed eastbound on Broad Street (M-57) near Chapman when the rig rolled over.
Authorities said the driver was not injured. The clean-up was further complicated due to a large amount of fuel that spilled when the truck rolled. Several area fire departments were called in to assist.
M-57 was closed in both directions for at least two to three hours.
Investigators are probing to see if a combination of wind, curvature of the road and a shift in payload may have had anything to do with the rollover.
