RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Richmond Police were kept busy late night Sunday into early Monday morning following investigations of two armed robberies.

The first armed robbery took place inside of the McDonald's at the corner of Hull Street and Commerce Roads less than 30 minutes earlier, around 11:00 p.m. Sunday. Police said two masked men entered the fast food restaurant and demanded money from those working behind the counter. One of the suspects was armed at the time. They then made off with an unknown amount of cash, and fled in an unknown direction.

The latest armed robbery happened around 3 a.m. at a 7-11 in the 6800 block of Forest Hill Avenue. One masked man entered the convenience store, armed with an unknown object, and demanded cash from the clerk. She was the only person inside of the store at the time, according to Richmond Police. The suspect in this case made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, and fled in an unknown direction.

No one was hurt in either robbery, and it's too early to tell whether or not the crimes are connected. So far no suspects have been arrested in any of the cases. Anyone with information is asked to call Richmond Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
