The grandparents of a six-year-old girl are accused of kidnapping her – and the girl's rescue by authorities was all caught on tape.
Shane and Lynette Schultz were formally charged with kidnapping their granddaughter in Saginaw Township.
The kidnapping happened last week after the little girl's father was arrested on a probation violation.
It all unfolded Thursday afternoon last week when police received a 911 call from a woman at the Camelot Place Apartments in Saginaw Township.
The woman said that four people, forced their way into her apartment and took the six-year-old girl, who happened to be the daughter of the woman's boyfriend.
Within thirty minutes, police spotted the vehicle on southbound I-75 in Bridgeport. They pulled the car over and with guns drawn, approach the vehicle.
The driver could be seen being removed from the vehicle and then a few moments later, the child.
The girls' sobs are audible on the police cruiser video. The other three people inside that car were also taken into custody.
The grandparents, along with the two other people involved, have been charged with kidnapping, home invasion and assault. They could receive prison time if convicted.
