Two convicted, police cite hard work and courage

Posted: Updated:

On Friday, a Saginaw County jury convicted John Granderson and Jemarcus Watkins of 17 felony counts.

The two men now stand convicted of firebombing a home on Capehart in Sheridan Park within the City of Saginaw on July 11, 2013.

The most serious of the charges is conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, which carries a life sentence.

Police say without the hard work of Detective Matt Gerow and the Saginaw Police Department Detective Bureau, Michigan State Police detectives, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Paul Fehrman and the Prosecutor's Office, Saginaw Police Department Patrol Division, Michigan State Police Troopers and the Saginaw Fire Department this could not have been possible.

Officials are also grateful witnesses came forward to testify in this case saying this case proves that when courageous people come forward to testify, their efforts will not go in vain.
