GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

A Glendale family lost all its belongings in an early morning house fire Tuesday.

Firefighters were met by smoke and flames at the house near 63rd and Missouri avenues about 4:15 a.m., said firefighter Daniel Valenzuela.

A mother, two young children and their pets were outside when firefighters arrived and were staying with neighbors, Valenzuela said.

He said the flames moved into the attic and throughout the house, destroying the family's belongings.

"Unfortunately, this family lost literally everything that's in that home just a couple weeks before Christmas, which is heartbreaking," Valenzuela said. "Fortunately, this family made it out safely."

No injuries were reported, Valenzuela said.

He said investigators were trying to determine the fire's origins, the amount of damage and whether there were working smoke alarms.
