PEORIA, AZ (CBS5) -

A teen who attempted to rob a Peoria-area convenience store left without incident, after the clerk refused to hand over any money, police said.

Police said they hope someone in the community has information that can lead to an arrest.

The suspect entered a Diamond Shamrock store at 83rd Avenue and Cactus Road just before 4 a.m. on Nov. 28.

He appeared to be a regular customer, police said. The teen took a drink to the counter and instead of paying, he indicated to the clerk that he had a weapon and demanded money from the register, police said.

The clerk refused and the suspect left the store without further incident.

The suspect  is described as between 15 to 19 years old. He is between 5'3" to 5'7" tall and has acne on his face, police said. He was last seen wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt with stains on the sleeves, a brown beanie cap, black knit winter gloves, brown khaki pants and brown shoes.

People with any information about the suspect's whereabouts are asked to call the police department's tip line at 623-773-7045.
