LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A UPS plane landed safely at Louisville International Airport Friday after declaring an in-flight emergency.

According to UPS spokesman Jeff Wafford, a flap indicator signal came on in the cockpit of the Boeing 757 headed to Louisville from Mexico City. Per standard operating procedure, the crew declared an emergency out of an abundance of caution and made a safe landing in Louisville around 2:50 p.m.

Wafford said the flap is working now.

Crews with test the plane before it returns to service.
