SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -

Authorities in Saginaw County say electrical problems caused a blaze that destroyed three school buses and damaged another.

The damage to the four Saginaw Intermediate School District buses from the Saturday night fire is estimated at $300,000. The cause stemmed from trouble with a system designed to prevent diesel-powered engines from freezing.

A district spokeswoman says the damage hasn't affected transportation service.

The buses were at the Saginaw Township Community School District garage.
