The American Red Cross, Midland County 911 and the Law Enforcement Center are asking all eligible donors to roll-up their sleeves and donate blood this holiday season.
A blood drive will be held from 10AM – 3:45PM on Monday, December 23rd at the Midland Law Enforcement Center (2727 Rodd Street). You can help spread hope this holiday season by giving something that doesn't cost a thing, but can offer so much more.
"The holidays bring families and friends together in times of celebration, but for families dealing with a cancer diagnosis or other major illness, the holidays can be a difficult time," said Kelly Remer, Donor Recruitment Representative with the Great Lakes Blood Services Region. "When you give the gift of life with the Red Cross, you're giving hospital patients the chance to spend more holiday seasons with their loved ones."
Historically, during the winter months of December and January, fewer donors make the time to give blood due to competing seasonal activities, celebrations and holiday shopping. The Red Cross urges donors who make a commitment to donate during the holiday period to keep their appointments.
"We are thrilled that Midland County 911 and the Law Enforcement Center are partnering with us this holiday season to help save lives," said Remer. "As a bonus, Santa Claus will be making an appearance at the blood drive from 12PM – 2PM, so bring the entire family!"
