CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A soldier recently released from Fort Sill, OK, for desertion is believed to have been involved in four crashes that injured three on Friday night.

Authorities report receiving a call that a possible intoxicated driver, identified as Nushawn Gaskin, was driving his 1997 Chevy Camaro erratically on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard from the Olive Garden Restaurant.

Police said Gaskin's car crashed into a 2001 Toyota Tacoma at the intersection of Center Point Drive and Wilma Rudolph. He then crashed into a Toyota Tundra at the intersection of Trenton and 101st Airborne Division Parkway. A third crash was reported at an unknown location when Gaskin crashed into a Chrysler Town and Country. The fourth crash was at the intersection of Wilma Rudolph and Dunbar Cave involving Gaskin and the driver of a GMC Sierra.

Three people, including Gaskin, were transported to Gateway Medical Center for treatment.

Police said Gaskin, 28, was an active duty soldier recently released from Fort Sill, OK, for desertion, and was just released by Kentucky authorities after serving 90 days for an unknown infraction.

Two warrants were on file against Gaskin in Montgomery County for domestic assault and driving on a revoked license.

Gaskin was charged with DUI and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident as a result of Friday's crashes. He is being held on $52,000 bond.
