KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Temperatures are dropping after a winter storm, bringing freezing rain and snow, moves out of the area.
KCTV5 meteorologist Hallie Shulman said a few flurries will be left Sunday morning, but the main winter storm has moved northeast.
About 2 to 4 inches of snow were reported in the Kansas City area, some isolated areas saw higher totals.
The highest accumulation was reported north of the metro with 7 inches of in St. Joseph. Click here to read more.
Road crews on both sides of the state line spent the night clearing the roads for safe travel on Sunday.The main highways and interstates appear to be cleared for the most part with isolated slick spots.
A layer of ice from freezing rain and sleet followed by Saturday night's snow did cause a few accidents in the area.
Cloudy skies and cold temperatures can be expected throughout the day with highs in the low 20s. Winds will be out of the northwest 5-15 mph.
Temperatures will fall into the single digits by Monday morning, as a chilly start to the work week is expected with highs only in the teens Monday afternoon.
