Thousands in Mid-Michigan are dealing with the aftermath of the first winter storm of the 2013-14 winter season. Representatives from Consumers Energy tell TV5 nearly 300,000 of its customers are without power statewide. More than 100,000 of those in the cold and dark are in Mid-Michigan.

Here are some updated numbers of power outages across the area as of 6:30pm Sunday evening. According to Consumers, 57,000 customers in Genesee County have lost power. About 2,500 customers in Saginaw County are without power.

A spokesman from DTE tells us 30,000 of its customers are without power in Lapeer County. Another 6,000 customers are in the dark in Sanilac County and Tuscola County.

In Genesee County, one of our crews saw several traffic lights out on Holly Road in Grand Blanc. Several homes in nearby neighborhoods are also in the dark. Brian Wheeler from Consumers Energy says it could be as late as next Saturday before power is fully restored in Genesee County.
