Truck snags power lines on M-47 near Freeland

FREELAND, MI (WNEM) -

Police and rescue crews were on the scene of a situation involving a semi-truck that clipped several overhead lines on M-47 north of Freeland.

The Deputy Chief of the Tittabawassee Township Fire Department said the recent bad weather caused several phone/power/cable lines to sag.

A truck was traveling on M-47 around 11 a.m. and as the truck drove under the sagging lines, it took them out.

A TV5 reporter at the scene said the lines were strewn about M-47. The road was closed for a time north of Freeland in both directions. The truck driver remained inside the cab as a precaution while crews cleared the lines.

Luckily, no one was injured.
