Cleveland SWAT locks down residential building

Cleveland Police have confirmed that SWAT officers were on scene at an apartment building in the 14000 block of Lakeshore Blvd. looking for a suspect in connection with an aggravated robbery.

After officers entered the unit where it was believed that the suspect was hiding, it was determined that the person of interest was not there.

Police say that they received a call for assistance at about 5:15 p.m. on Friday, December 27.

At 8:45 p.m. Cleveland Police confirm that traffic had just gotten back to normal and the area was no longer taped off. 

A witness at the scene says that the she was told to stay inside of her home and that no residents were allowed out of their apartments.  The scene was described as "scary" as officers spoke on bullhorns with guns drawn.
