Posted: Updated:
RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

New Year's Eve is a time for celebration, but it's also a popular time for drinking and driving.

If you choose to celebrate by drinking, there are several free ways to get home safely around Richmond.

Napoleon Taxi is teaming up with the law firm of Allen & Allen to offer free cab rides home. Starting at 10:00 p.m. New Year's Eve, you can call Napoleon Taxi at (804) 354-8294 and ask for the Sober Ride Home and Allen & Allen will pick up your fare. You must ask for the Sober Ride Home for the free ride and the cabs will only take you home, not to another drinking establishment. The rides will run through 5:00 a.m. January 1st.

Spoken4 and Lion's Paw Development are partnering to provide free rides in Carytown and the Fan starting at 9:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve. For a free Spoken4 bike ride, call (804) 525-0532 or tweet @RideSpoken4. Normally, the taxis cost $5 per person, but will be free thanks to the Lion's Paw Development. Free rides will be offered until 2:30 a.m. January 1st.
