GRAND BLANC, MI (WNEM) -

One elderly Mid-Michigan woman was saved from a house fire thanks to the actions of two police officers.

The fire, which broke out around 2 a.m. on Walker Street near Center Road in Grand Blanc, was first spotted by a teenager playing video games. While that teen called 911, an off-duty Michigan State Police trooper and a Grand Blanc City Police officer sprang into action.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but investigators say it started in the garage before spreading to the house. Authorities said the MSP trooper was on the way home and spotted the fire.

The elderly woman was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and her current condition is unknown. Rescuers said she did have some bumps and bruises.

It's not known how much of the house was damaged by flames.
