Miles Petroleum Creditors come forward

BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

As part of the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy filing, Miles Petroleum President Barry Marlow had to meet with creditors objecting to the bankruptcy filing.

This initial meeting with creditors was held at Bay City Bankruptcy Court this afternoon.

Miles Petroleum closed it's door in September.  More than 50 complaints were filed with the Attorney General's office by customers demanding their money be refunded from the Merrill corporation.  They claim they paid for their winter fuel ahead of time as part of the company's "Pre-buy price protection program."

Marlow dodged TV5's questions outside the bankruptcy court.

The next step will be up to the bankruptcy trustee to determine whether or not more information is needed before granting a discharge.  Creditors have 60 days from today to object a bankruptcy discharge.
