TUSCOLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

UPDATE: The sheriff's department tells WNEM.com that following further investigation, detectives have determined that the story below is "unfounded."

The Tuscola County Sheriff's office said it's deputies are looking to interview the driver of a white van in connection to a suspicious situation that happened in Kingston.

Authorities said the incident happened around 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, in the Village of Kingston when two boys, ages 10 and 12, say they were approached by the driver of a white van.

Deputies said the driver is only described as wearing all black.  The van is described as a white cargo-style van with no side windows. The boys said there were chains and ropes hanging in the back window.

According to the boys, the driver exited the van and approached them and made a remark about their underwear. Investigators said the driver then tried to grab one of the boys but was not successful and then drove off.

The sheriff's office is asking that if anyone knows of a vehicle matching the description above to please contact 911 . Their investigation into the matter is ongoing.
