Bay City names new city manager

BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

After searching for nearly a year, Bay City's leaders have picked their next city manager.

City commissioners voted to offer the job to Richard Finn at the meeting Monday night.

Finn has served as city manager and city administrator in four cities in the midwest and northeast, including Sandusky, Ohio.

Commissioners say choosing a city manager is the most important job they will ever do. They wanted to take their time to choose the best person for the job.

Finn will be presented with an official offer on behalf of the city.

If he accepts, he could be on the job in 30 to 60 days. The last city manager earned more than 90 thousand dollars a year.

Finn beat out Bay City native David White for the position.
