BAY COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

An accident closed down the westbound lanes of U.S. 10 in Bay County, but TV5 is receiving word that both lanes are back open to traffic. The accident happened around 12 p.m. Thursday.

The crash happened underneath the overpass of 7 Mile Road.

Emergency FlightCare is on the way to the scene. There are numerous reports of accidents in the area and police are urging drivers to use caution when traveling on the roadways.

A traffic tipster says the accident involved a Ford F-150 pick-up truck. The tipster also says the highway is backed up about a mile due to the crash.

Police were forced to divert westbound traffic onto Mackinaw Road from westbound 10.

TV5 will continue to follow this story and will provide updates as new information is learned.
