A man was shot and killed during a standoff with police in northern Lower Michigan.
State police Lt. John Card says the shooting took place early Thursday outside a home in Roscommon Township.
According to Card, Roscommon County sheriff's deputies responded to the home following a report around midnight of a felonious assault.
Card says "deputies were able to get two" people out of the house. A 75-year-old man came out later and pointed a handgun at police, who had set up a perimeter around the home. He was instructed to put down the weapon and get down, but Card says he didn't.
Card says shots were fired, and the man went back in the house, where he was found dead.
