Investigators looking for driver who crashed into police cruiser

DAVISON TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Davison Township police are looking for a driver who crashed into a police cruiser and took off.

The accident happened Thursday around 1 p.m. on I-69.

Police say the officer was responding to an injury accident with his emergency lights on when the cruiser was struck by a dark colored, older model pickup truck with a topper, driven by a white man possibly in his 50's.

The truck driver initially stopped but then fled west on I-69 and exited onto State Rd.

The 27-year-old officer was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.
