A man found badly burned in a Colonial Heights park died from his injuries late Thursday, according to fire officials.
Fire crews have not yet released the man's identity or provided an update on the investigation, but they do not suspect foul play.
A man walking at Fort Clifton park Thursday morning discovered the badly burned man and called 911. Students at nearby Tussing Elementary school had to be kept inside for a brief period, as investigators arrived and called in a medical helicopter.
The victim wasn't able to be flown and was taken by ambulance to VCU Medical Center instead.
