Funeral home faces serious charges from state

Posted: Updated:
STANDISH, MI (WNEM) -

A local funeral home is shut down over allegations involving money for prepaid funerals.

State regulators closed the R.O. Savage Funeral Chapel in Standish.

They say employees of the business weren't putting money from prepaid funerals where they were supposed to.

The state says $600,000 for prepaid funerals wasn't put in escrow.

The manager of the funeral home, Richard Weishun, is also accused of operating the funeral home without a license.
