4 men charged, accused of home invasion

Posted: Updated:

Four local men are facing 18 felony charges between them, including first-degree home invasion.

Police say they broke into a Bay City home where a woman inside was raped by one of the men, and they then proceeded to rob her.

Authorities said Nashawn Lane, 18, Antonio Griffin, 19, Sammie Wright, 19, and 17-year-old Quayvon Brown are all from Saginaw.

Bay City police say the four men forced their way into a home in the city's east side on Jan. 14. One of the men, Quayvon Brown, allegedly raped a woman in the home. Then authorities tell TV5 they left the residence with cash and a television or cell phone.

Three days later the four men allegedly tried to carjack a woman in the 1400 block of 11th Street. Police say that woman was not harmed and the suspects were arrested a short time later.

A judge has set Brown's bond at $350,000, Wright's at $300,000 and Lane and Griffin's at $250,000.

According to The Bay City Times, Michigan Department of Corrections records show that Wright was just released from parole on Jan. 4 following a stint in prison for second-degree home invasion.

If they are convicted of the 18 charges, they could face some serious jail time when they are sentenced. The men are due back in court in Feb. 4.
