Three ski resorts in southwestern Michigan are closed after snow and extreme cold made conditions hazardous in the area.
Locally, Mt. Holly in Oakland County is closed and will reopen on Wednesday.
The Kalamazoo Gazette reports Bittersweet Ski Resort, Timber Ridge and Swiss Valley Ski & Snowboard Area were shut down Tuesday.
In a statement on its website, Bittersweet Ski Resort in Allegan County said the cold was behind the decision to close. Swiss Valley Ski & Snowboard Area is located in Cass County, and it says an area ban on non-essential or non-emergency travel was behind the decision.
