FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

The president of a local community college is stepping down after spending 14 years in the community.

Mott Community College President Dick Shaink announced Wednesday that he will be retiring this year.

He said he will step down sometime over the next six to seven months.

He became president of MCC in 2000.

Over the last 14 years, Dr. Shaink has received multiple awards from a number of organizations for the work he has done at the school.
