ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -

A 59-year-old woman could be charged Monday after police say she killed and dismembered her son.

Police say the arrest was made in connection to body parts found in several garbage bags last week in St. Clair County.

Investigators say the body parts are those of the woman's 32-year-old son.

So far, police have not released the names of the woman or the victim in the case.

St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon said in a statement, the remains were found Thursday afternoon in garbage bags. The bags were in St. Clair and China townships, about 50 miles northeast of Detroit.

Shortly before 5 a.m. Friday, Donnellon says investigators found a bag that contained clothing and charred paperwork.

The mother was seen allegedly dumping what a caller thought was garbage from the vehicle.
