1 person missing after car overturns into Henrico river

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

One person is still missing, and two others are in critical condition, after a car overturned into the Chickahominy River late Monday night.

Around 10:30 p.m., a car ran off of the road, overturning into part of the river, according to Henrico Fire Officials. Two people inside of the car were eventually rescued, and taken to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The victims were under the water for up to 20 minutes, according to Henrico Fire Officials.

One person is still missing. Search crews are expected to be on scene throughout the night in order to locate him. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
