SHIAWASSEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

An Owosso Township man has pleaded guilty to lying to police in connection with the death of his friend, Aaron Idle.

James Douglas Cummings faces up to six years in prison.

Investigators believe the two men were doing drugs together back in March. When Cummings found Idle unresponsive, he put his body in a dumpster.

In January, Andrew Jerome Idle was arrested, accused of conspiring to deliver a controlled substance to the 35-year-old Cummings.

Deputies said Cummings was in the company of 30-year-old Aaron Idle on March 23, 2013, the last day Idle was seen alive. Deputies said on that date, an arrangement was made to receive a delivery of some sort of controlled substances at Cummings residence, which deputies said was reportedly consumed by Idle and Cummings.

At some point, deputies said Cummings discovered that Idle was unresponsive and presumed to be dead. Deputies said it is believed that Cummings then transported Idle to a nearby dumpster and deposited his body into it. Police said the contents of the dumpster inevitably were collected and taken to a land fill.

Investigators believe Idle's body is in that Genesee County landfill.
