The Midland Community Tennis Center courts are heating up for the start of the Dow Corning Tennis Classic.
More than 30 professional women's tennis players from 18 different countries are in Midland this week for the 26th annual competition.
Midland Community Tennis Center Executive Director, Mike Woody, says this year will feature strong competition.
"The level of the talent this year is probably one of the strongest. We've got four returning champs, and 18 players that have been ranked in the top 100," said Woody.
One of the tennis stars competing this year is Lucie Hradecka, from the Czech Republic. Hradecka, who won a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic games, says she enjoys competing in Midland each year.
"I love this tournament all the people here are very nice. I feel here like I'm at home," said Hradecka.
The Dow Corning Tennis Classic is free to attend in the afternoon today through Friday. Tickets are available for evening matches. The event wraps up February 16 with the Championship matches at 1 p.m.
