Carriere has been chosen as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division "Player of the Week" after leading
the Lady Cardinals to a pair of victories.
had a big week while leading the Lady Cardinals to a pair of victories
over GLIAC North opponents, running their win streak to six games. The
sophomore guard posted 13 points, four rebounds, four assists and a
steal in the team's 71-60 home victory over Lake Superior State before
scoring a game-high 21 points with two assists and two steals in the
team's 85-78 victory over #18 Wayne State. The victory
over the Warriors snapped WSU's 17-game home win streak and was SVSU's
first win in Detroit since February 17, 2007. Carriere is averaging
13.4 ppg for the 2013-14 season and is averaging 4.0 rebounds-per-game
and 2.7 assists-per-game. She is 5th in the league
in free throw percentage (85.1%), 9th in three-point percentage (39.1%)
and is in the top-15 in scoring with her 13.4 ppg.
SVSU women's basketball team takes its 12-7 overall record and 10-6
GLIAC mark to the road on a trip to the Upper Peninsula with contests
Northern Michigan (Feb. 13) and Michigan Tech (Feb. 15) this Thursday
and Saturday, respectively.
