SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Fire crews were busy battling a blaze just west of the village of Chesaning early Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out around 7 a.m. at the two-story home at 14300 Brady Road or M-57. One person was at home at the time of the blaze. That person made it out of the home safely.

Officials say the home did not have heat.

The blaze caused traffic problems on M-57. The area is about a mile and a half west of M-52.

Eight different units were called in to help truck in water to fight the fire because there were no water hydrants in the area.

The home was a rental property. It is believed that the tenants did not have rental insurance.
