Community mourns sudden death of area high school student

REESE, MI (WNEM) -

WNEM.com has learned of the sudden passing of an area high school student after he was hospitalized for flu-like symptoms.

Family friends said Reese High School student Adam Lue Yang, 17, died Monday after he developed secondary complications and some type of bacterial infection, which caused his organs to shut down.

Yang was initially admitted to Covenant in Saginaw before being transferred to U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor on Saturday.

Friends tell WNEM.com that Yang was well liked at his high school and played many sports.

A funeral service will be held at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m.

Adam's family has asked that anyone wanting to help the family with funeral and medical expenses can by donating online here.
