Local radio stations come under new ownership

SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Nearly a half-dozen local radio stations have come under new ownership and now their parent company is announcing a name change.

On a Monday conference call with all of the full-time employees of NextMedia operating in Saginaw, Dean Goodman announced the start of his new company called "Digity."

The reason for that, he says, "Digity has special meaning for all of our employees as true broadcasters and individuals. Digity is on-air, on-line, on-demand, on-location, and on-the-go. It connects today's busy consumers and advertisers with content they want, people they trust, products they enjoy, and local content that matters."

"Digity is a newly formed media company with radio at its core" said Shannone Dunlap, VP/General Manager of the Saginaw properties recently purchased by Goodman. "We are excited about our next chapter, the evolution of technology has definitely brought opportunity to our medium and we are here to serve the listeners, consumers and businesses of the Great Lakes Bay Region."

The Digity cluster includes local stations WCEN – 94.5 The Moose, WGER – Mix 106.3 FM, WSGW Newsradio 790AM, WSGW Talk & Sports 100.5 and WTLZ – Kiss 107.1.
