Pets rescued from blaze in Montrose Twp.

MONTROSE TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Multiple fire units were called in to battle a blaze in Genesee County early Wednesday morning.

The blaze took place at a home located on the 11-thousand block of North Morrish Road in Montrose Township.

An elderly woman was inside the home at the time of the blaze. She was able to make it out of the structure unharmed. The woman also had several pets inside the home, all of which were rescued by firefighters.

The fire started in the kitchen of the home.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
