(RNN) – So, in case you haven't noticed, there's a massive sporting conglomerate holding a biennial set of contests in what was supposed to be cold weather on the other side of Earth. Go sports. (Full roundup below.)

We actually have better Winter Olympics weather here than Sochi does, and that has prompted several school closures across the country.

Rather than just letting the local TV station run its announcement on a crawl or painstakingly calling every student in the school, officials at Durham Academy in Durham, NC, took to YouTube to rap snow day-appropriate lyrics to Ice Ice Baby, a song most of their students have probably never even heard. (There's a joke to be made here about the song's music being stolen.)

There was even an Olympic tie-in as one of the officials put the $595 he wasted on a Team USA sweater to good use by donning it in the video, which caused him to look more ridiculous than Vanilla Ice in the original Ice Ice Baby video – a feat previously considered impossible.

As if the fall wasn't bad enough…

Pigs will eat anything, including video cameras that fall from planes.

The free fall part of the video is awesome. The looking down a pig's throat part is less awesome.

It's a bird … It's a plane … It's Superbaby!

Superman is cool. This baby knows that, and wants to be like him. Pretty soon he'll discover it takes more than just raising your hands over your head to fly, but that doesn't make him any less of a true American hero.

That is, until he becomes a teenager and starts liking Batman.

Why you're single

Friday was the day your relationship circumstances determine whether you like it or hate it. Comedian Paul Gale put together a helpful video for the people who hate it.

If you are single, this video will give you a better understanding of why it is you don't have someone to spend money buying flowers for. (SPOILER: It's because you're superficial.)

Animal of the week

One day your goldfish might drive your car for you. It has no idea what it's doing, so maybe that's not a good idea, but the potential of creating the world's coolest vacuum cleaner is definitely real.

More stuff for when you're bored (Olympics edition)

Americans Meryl Davis and Charlie White are favored for the ice dancing gold medal (competition starts Sunday). Ice dancing, by its very nature, is quite sensual and when you pair that with the Beyonce/Jay-Z song Drunk In Love (as the Internet is wont to do), the result will fog up your screen (WARNING: Jay-Z can't sing five words without cussing). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVocGYZZzXk

Evgeny Plushenko had to withdraw from the men's singles competition, but he got the Internet remix treatment for a performance that's better than anything he would've done this year anyway. If you only watch one video the rest of your life, make it this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMIErbpN_ys

This parrot really likes Latvian lugers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8IjwJ-nsd0#t=0

Deadspin spliced together the downhill skiing runs of Switzerland's Dominique Gisin and Slovenia's Tina Maze that resulted in a shared gold medal. http://deadspin.com/gisin-maze-tie-in-downhill-heres-a-composite-video-1521744964

In an effort to find something they're good at (they failed), the U.S. women's curling team parodied What Does The Fox Say? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFn5Zc8-m-0

The Olympic spirit was on display at the cross country ski course as a Canadian coach helped a Russian skier after he fell and broke his skis. http://deadspin.com/canadian-coach-comes-to-rescue-of-russian-with-broken-s-1520580477

The Olympic spirit was on display at the cross country ski course – AGAIN – as Roberto Carcelen, Peru's only athlete to ever compete in the Winter Olympics, competed with a broken rib and finished last, but was met at the finish line by gold medal winner Dario Cologna (Switzerland) who waited half an hour for him. http://deadspin.com/peruvian-finishes-30-minutes-behind-winner-who-meets-h-1522766544

American luger Kate Hanson likes to dance to Beyonce before going 80 mph down a sheet of ice on a tiny sled. http://www.people.com/people/package/article/0,,20778965_20785444,00.html

Erin Hamlin had the first ever singles luge medal by an American blessed by Hanson with the traditional post-Olympic twerk that dates back to … Thursday. http://instagram.com/p/kU9CG8S3fN/#
