The Isabella County Sheriff's department is investigating a two-car head on collision that happened Thursday night around 8:30 p.m.
Deputies said the crash occurred on M-20, just west of Littlefield Road. Authorities said 26-year-old Elizabeth Poyer, of Grand Haven, was traveling westbound when she tried to pass two other westbound vehicles.
Investigators said she did not have enough time to pass both vehicles and ended up striking a car driven by 19-year-old James Stork. Stork was traveling eastbound.
Deputies said both subjects had to be extricated from their cars and both drivers sustained serious injuries. Their current conditions are unknown.
Police said alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash with regard to Poyer. Both drivers were wearing restraints.
M-20 (Remus Rd.) had to be shut down and traffic was re-routed until the crash investigation was completed.
