On the eve of trial,dozens of pastors from around Michigan are speaking out in favor of the state'sban on gay marriage.
They held a news conference Monday at aDetroit church, saying family stability and the Bible demand marriage onlybetween a man and a woman.
A trial starts Tuesday in Detroit federalcourt on the future of Michigan's gay marriage ban, which was approved byvoters in 2004. Two female nurses who are raising three adopted children arechallenging it. They say it violates their rights under the Equal ProtectionClause of the U.S. Constitution.
The Rev. Roland Caldwell says, "Thefight is on." He says it's wrong to overturn the will of the people expressedthrough the ballot box.
The trial could last two weeks.
