FLINT TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

TV5 is following breaking news from Flint Township where one 29-year-old woman is dead and three others have been injured after a fire.

The blaze happened early Wednesday morning at a home on the 1100 block of Lask Drive, just off of Beecher Road.

It took nearly 20 firefighters to get the blaze under control. Mt. Morris, Flushing and FLint Township fire crews battled the blaze.

Authorities say that Charles Hughes, his 2-year-old son and Dorman's 11-year-old son were in critical condition at Hurley Medical Center.

Hughes' aunt says he was at work when he got a call that the house was burning.

Diana Hughes says her nephew rushed home and climbed through a bedroom window to rescue the boys. She says he tried but failed to find Dorfman in the burning building.

Right now a preliminary investigation into the fire's cause indicate that smoking materials, such as cigarettes or a pipe, were left burning in the garage. A fire investigator is still on the scene and will continue to investigate.

Most of the home is completely destroyed.

TV5 has a crew at the scene and we will provide new information as it comes into the continuous news center.
